We are just back from Christmas & New Year in the Sunshine State of Florida, now that it is open one thing we all wanted to do this time was the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, I spoke to a friend who said the wait was 7 hours to get in, yes 7 hours!!

So to get round this we booked a luxury family room at the Hard Rock Hotel (cost of US$198 plus tax) which is basically joined onto Universal & Islands of Adventure parks (IOA), by staying at the hotel your room key card automatically gives all of you a privilege express pass (for two days, 9am to 7pm) to enter IOA & get to Harry Potter at 8am, a full hour before the park opens so you are guaranteed to get in the world of Harry potter & get on the ride a couple of times before the masses come in to the park.

The other real superb thing is your room key card is also an express pass for all the rides in both Universal & IOA, plus it gives you priority seating at all the resturants in the parks, you just go straight to the front!

When you consider that to buy a Monday to Thursday, single person, single park express pass is priced at $39.99 (making it $319.92 for a family of four for 2 parks for two days!) the hotel room rate is fantastic value.
