Hi Everyone,
The time flies by and it is already time for the Special “Mickey Nights” over the coming holiday periods. They are so popular with regular visitors and a big hit with first timer’s we would like to bring the event scheduels to you all.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a Halloween-themed special event held on select dates in Magic Kingdom. You have to buy an additional event admission ticket to attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The evenings will be held from 7pm-12am.
Guests of all ages are encouraged to dress up in their favorite Halloween costumes but buy these at Walmart before you go into Disney as they are much much cheaper. Also you should load up with your Trick or Treat goodies before you go. It really is a Great Family night. There are special entertainment features at certain Disney attractions. Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade—including Disney Characters and the stars of the Haunted Mansion. The parade begins with a spook-tacular ride by the Headless Horseman. Happy HalloWishes, a spectacular fireworks show where the Disney Villains go trick-or-treating in the sky. Many favorite Disney Characters and Disney Villains in special Halloween costumes. The special lighting, music and theming effects transforms special areas of Magic Kingdom theme park into happy haunted hollows. However, typical Disneylike the tone of the event is, well, “Not-So-Scary” and is appropriate for children of all ages. Dates:- Monday October 11,

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is probably the most popular and the most spectactular, also at The Magic Kingdom. Again, there is an extra charge for the Special nights. The Christmas festive celebration is filled with extra live entertainment, spectacular fireworks and an extra special holiday parade. The enchanted Castle Dream Lights on Cinderella’s Castle are absolutely breathtaking, make sure you camera batteries are charged. Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade, complete with a special appearance by Santa Claus himself. Live entertainment featuring Disney Characters and more chances to meet and greet your own favourites. Make the most of a rare Dieney Freebie with Complimentary cookies and hot cocoa before the magical snow fall on Main Street.

Just a few snippets we have heard about through our returning guests and management over in Florida which may be of some interest to future visitors.
Odd details about the major NEW roller coaster project at Busch Gardens are slowly being revealed.
One of our recent guests noticed that signs have gone up on the construction walls with the slogan “Feel the spirit. Feel the speed, coming Spring 2011″.
On checking it out it seems that the ride will offer an immersive experience along the same lines as the new Manta ride at SeaWorld that opened in 2009.
Our management have told us that the name “Cheetaka” has been mentioned which makes you think it might have something to do with African cheetahs that are renowned for their speed. Bring it on!! the kids will love it.Final Shuttle Launch Dates
NASA are reviewing the launch dates of the last two shuttles.
Discovery (STS-133) is due to lift off on September 16, 2010 but this might now may move to October 29.
The final mission by Endeavour (STS-134) due in late November would then slip to February 28, 2011.Halloween (and Summer is not over!!!)Universal Horror Nights
Universal Orlando have announced the dates of this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. They are planning 24 nights between September 24 and October 31.
They can be really scarey for some children so be warned!! and check it out first.Petrol Prices
Despite the disaster in the Gulf, petrol prices have dropped again with the average pump prices in Florida going down another 5 cents from $2.75 a gallon to $2.70 a gallon. Just wish the Parking Prices at the Parks would do the same!!Hope this helps your holiday planning.
Happy Holidays Mary & Larry

Halloween at Universal

Authors WebsiteWe decided to take a late break to florida in the October Half Term this year. Making it a late decision certainly reduced the cost of the flight with Continental. One tip if you can just take hand luggage, especially with an American Airline as they let you have 18kg.
We bought our tickets in advance and printed them off at home. That saved some time at the gates.
We entered the park to be met with different street zones that were not only scary but amusing as well. There were also six haunted houses to visit. Meet Cleaver was our favourite.
My wife has never screamed so much - she nearly lost her voice. The ticket also let us visit on two nights so we did not have to worry too much about getting in all the houses on one night as there was some queuing.
All in all a scary halloween in the heat of Florida at 80 degrees.
Well worth the trip

Halloween horror nights at universal is THE BEST experience ever, we have been going now for the past 6 years and always make sure our holiday is around the time when this is on. the best deal out there is the frequent fear pass, you do not need an annual pass to get this, it is a very special offer, you get to go to the horror nights at least 12 times, you get to ride all the rides on the side they are having the horror nights, so not only are you getting to experience all the fun of the horror nights with the haunted houses and scare zones, you are able to enjoy universal also.
We would also recommend the meal deal bands that they have, it is a great deal $19.99 for the whole day at selected restaurants, pizzas, burgers, chinese, fried chicken, pasta, deserts, cookies. it is great for the whole family, something for everyone….
There is also a drinks cup you can buy, if you buy it with your armband your drinks are free all night, if you just buy the drinks cup then refills are about $1 per refill, still a great idea drinks can get quite expensive when you are hot and sticky running around in the hot weather from ride to ride !!!Express pass is great but a little expensive, seaworld and busch gardens are doing similar options now a lot cheaper.
but you can not beat disneys fast pass (FREE) you just have to collect a ticket from each ride you want to go on.
Best times to visit the parks is MAY and September, very quite easy to get on the rides not too much queing
Best restaurants > GOLDEN CORRAL and for the kids a great cheap meal out
all you can eat CI-CI’S Pizza at $5.00 per person for all you can eat pizza, pasta, salad, deserts !!!!!!! great value great taste’
you can find ci-ci’s on international drive, highway 192 vineland rd
Many more opening,
best crazy golf, highway 192 BONANZA golf only $3.99 per person, special offers always in the books, check out all coupons can save you a lot of money over 2 weeks !!!!!

Authors WebsiteAs Halloween is a Massive Event in the US there are some fantastic shows to be seen all over but Especially at the Parks from September through to November.
Universal & Busch Gardens actually employ THOUSANDS of extra staff to dress up and SCARE the visitors as they make there way around the Parks. Their costumes are absolutely brilliant and with all of the Scarey bits there are lots & lots of laughs.
Seaworld include their nights in with the price but Disney, Universal & Busch have special ticketed nights so it is best to check the nights & prices out.
Universal have a Special Themed event each year & this year it is from The Silver Screen –CHUCKY & THE WOOLFMAN.
REMEMBER some Halloween Events are NOT suitable for young children. We have this chart below which will give you a good idea of the shows but again it is best to check everything out for your own family.
