As the owner of a vacation rental villa ourselves we are aware of the worry potential guests have about booking direct with the owner of a home over the internet, especially if that owner lives in a different country. This is a shame as a private rental home is usually of a much better quality than a unit offered by a travel company and will almost certainly have many more extras than a travel company unit - things like a Playstation2 console and games, DVD films, toys and games, pool inflatable etc. all not normally found in a corporate or property investor unit, but commonplace in a villa that is privately owned and used by the owner for their own vacations. The other big plus is the fact that you will know exactly which villa you will be staying in and if you have any questions about what is available at the home you can ask the owner directly. With our villa verification process you can rest assured that if a villa has the green 'villa verified' tick then that property is owned and operated by the person who's details appear in the villa advert. We hope that by offering this service that it will take some of the worry out of booking direct with the owner. To get a green villa verified tick on the villa listing page the owner has to send in a very recent utility bill or something similar that has both the villa address and the owners name on. This information has to be resubmitted each year as the rental villa advert is renewed. We can use this information to cross check the details online with the county property tax website that the home is owned by the person who's details we have. Please don't just assume that because a villa listing has the 'not verified' red cross that the villa doesn't exist or the advert is a scam. Scam villa rental adverts are very rare on paid to list sites like this and as the owner of the site we do tend to be in regular contact with many of the owners who advertise on here.
